On Sunday 20 November, 2011 a professional office photo shoot was held at the GVHL facility. The photo shoot was orchestrated by Akash Das, the brilliant advertising photographer who has travelled extensively capturing unusual and beautiful scenes who now can boast and add photographs, which capture the different abilities of helicopters and the everyday life of the GVHL team, to his portfolio. Akash in his photos captures the different areas of productivity in the everyday life at GVHL, from the GVHL’s state of the art facility, the fleet of helicopters to the efficiency of the production room. The fleet captured range from small light helicopters to medium-sized twin helicopters. The helicopters photographed are the ones that can offer a seating capacity from 7 (6 passengers + 1 pilot) to 17 (15 passengers + 2 pilots), and have the flexibility to adapt to offshore and onshore missions.Another great photo was capturing the efficiency of the operation room where flight operation officers plan and monitor the flight dispatch. This entails full detailing of the flight plan with full weather forecasts and en route information to any location in the world to ensure smooth flight operations. These specific shots were composed of the ‘Safety Shop’ which carries out the annual inspection / minor repair of RFD & EAM Life rafts to ensure that the most stringent safety systems are in place. Every helicopter used in the offshore business has two life rafts with a survival kit: first aid kit, drinking water, mini flare, shark repellant, ration pack, anti-seasick tablets. Additionally, every helicopter has life jackets and a personal locator beacon. Our pride and joy, the different models of GVHL’s fleet: Bell 412, AW 139, and AS 350 were captured flying in front of the hangar, with half of the hangar door open depicting all the maintenance and engineering activities. The photo shoot was a smashing success. Behind the scenes, there was a flurry of activity, and everything had to work so that the photo shoot was comfortable for everyone. But the GVHL team was keen to exhibit the professionalism and efficiency of their company which can is illustrated clearly in every picture.Akash Das is the only photographer to have been featured in Limca Book of World Records for his unique work and has been instrumental in changing the look of Indian advertising, particularly fashion advertising.
